Residential and Business Development: I am committed to promoting residential and business development that not only benefits our residents in the long term but also enhances our city’s fiscal stability. This means supporting projects that bring value to our community, create jobs, and contribute to a vibrant local economy while preserving the character and charm of Inver Grove Heights.
Increased Participation and Transparency: A transparent government is essential for a thriving community. I will advocate for increased participation and transparency in our local government processes. This includes making information more accessible, encouraging public engagement, and ensuring that decision-making is open and accountable. I believe that an informed and involved community is a strong community.
Accessible Parks, Green Space, and Trails: Our parks, green spaces, and trails are vital for the well-being and enjoyment of our residents. I will work tirelessly to increase the availability of these amenities, ensuring that every resident has access to beautiful, well-maintained outdoor spaces. Whether it’s through the creation of new parks or the enhancement of existing ones, I am dedicated to making Inver Grove Heights a greener, more livable city.
Fiscal Management: Sound fiscal management is crucial for controlling our tax levy and ensuring the financial health of our city. I will take a long-term approach to fiscal management, focusing on responsible budgeting, efficient use of resources, and strategic planning. My goal is to maintain a balanced budget while investing in the services and infrastructure that our community needs.
My Achievements on the City Council
As a dedicated member of the Inver Grove Heights City Council, I have actively contributed to several key initiatives that have positively impacted our community:
Pavement Management Task Force: Participated in the city Pavement Management Task Force and, as a member of the council, helped implement long-term plans to minimize the impact on residents.
Police and Fire Department Support: Supported efforts to right-size both our police and fire departments to better serve the needs of our growing community.
Park Development: Played a crucial role in establishing two new parks in the Northwest Quadrant of Inver Grove Heights, providing much-needed recreational spaces for our residents.
City Administrator Recruitment: Was part of the team that interviewed and hired our current City Administrator, ensuring strong leadership for our city’s future.
City Code Modernization: Contributed to ongoing efforts to modernize city code, making it more efficient and relevant to current needs.
Business Attraction: Engaged in continuous efforts to attract businesses to Inver Grove Heights, fostering economic growth and job creation.
Park Updates: Participated in city council initiatives to update and enhance existing parks across all of Inver Grove Heights, improving amenities and access for all residents.
Through these initiatives, I have worked diligently with my fellow council members to enhance the quality of life in Inver Grove Heights, ensuring our community continues to thrive and grow.
